With the erection c>f a »ew port light •Wanganui is being, brought into line with the requirements ot the overseas shipping companies, who specified certain conditions two years ago. The chairman 01 the Harbour Board stated recently that the lamp is a good piece of British work, and 11s * great acquisition to the port. It is at 1430 candle-power, and is beniG erected near the pilot station at C.istl&cliff on tower 55ft. high. It is of the acetylene flasher type, and in clear weather wi»_ be visible at sea level for a distance of fifteen fcilea.
