AFTERMATH OF STORM.
HOPES FOR THE RIVER IN A. MUNCANA TOWED INTO PORT. (Received April 25, 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. ApVil 25. The position of tho Huddart-Parker steamer Riverina, which is aground on Gabo Island, is still the same. The owners are hopeful of towing her oil The underwriters are sending more salvaging gear to the island. The Mungan'a, which lost her rudder 60 miles out from Sydney, was towed into port safely, but in a battered condition, which showed tho fierceness of the gale. At the height of the storm Captain Saunders perilously went over the side on a rope ladder, dangling among the breaking waves, to inspect the damage. The police have recovered the body of Gordon Melville, and two other victims of the Botany Bay launch tragedy.
