CAR STRIKES VERANDAH.
POST FALLS AGAINST SHOP. JEWELLER'S SHOWCASE BROKEN. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT, j WANGANUI, Sunday. A two-seater motor-car, driven by a Maori, was proceeding into the Avenue from Maria Place yesterday, when it struck a verandah post. The post gave way under the impact and fell on to a large plateglass showcase of Drew's jewellery shop. The case was full oi silverware, but beyond broken glass no further damage was done.
