STUDY OF SOIL SCIENCE.
CONGRESS IN AMERICA. DOMINION TO BE REPRESENTED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.! WELLINGTON, Friday. It was officially announced to-day that in view of the great importance of soil science in the elucidation of many agricultural problems in New Zealand, the Cawthron Trust is sending Mr. T.Rigg, agricultural chemist to the institute and a member of tho Council of Scientific arad Industrial Research, to attend the congress of tho Industrial Society of Soil Science which is to be held at Washington in June next. From America Mr. Rigg will proceed to the Rowell Institute, Aberdeen, to study matters in connection with the Empire-wide investigation into the mineral content of pastures.
