NATIVE MURDERERS.
ARRESTS IN NEW GUINEA. DEATHS OF PROSPECTORS. (Received April S. 10.30 p.m.) A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. April 8. A wireless message from Rabaul (New Guinea) says 20 arrests have been made in connection with the murders of three white men at Nakanai. All the actual murderers have been identified. Three white men were killed, one was wounded and another was reported missing following serious disturbances by the natives at Nakanai in November. Reports said that a party of white.men ventured into the wild country in search of gold. The incident was supposed to have been the aftermath of something which occurred during the visit of a previous party, as the natives of the district are not vicious as a rule. A punitive expedition left Rabaul immediately the news was received and it was later reported that the natives were in a dangerous mood.
