A VISIT TO FAIRYLAND.

BX FLORENCE -MARSHALL, "Would you like to come to fairyland to 6ee the Fairy Queen?" asked a soft voice is Claris' ear as she turned her head on the pillow, Claris sat up in bed with a start and rubbed 'her eyes. A dear little silveryclad figure sat on the bed post. "Yesl. Oh! Yes," phe cried eagerly. "I would love to come," Her face lit up with a smile as she spoke. "But I can't go in my pyjamas, can I?" and her face lost the eager look. "That will be all right," said the fairy, cheerfully, as she opened a small hand bag, out of which she drew a dainty net dress of glistening threads with violet trimmings. "Try this on, dear," she said as she handed the beautiful dress to Claris. The dress fitted perfectly, and when the fairy had produced little glass slippers and' pretty silk stockings, Claris looked charming. The fairy then told Claris to close her eyes for a moment. When she opened them she found herself, in a- beautiful throne-room. At the far end' on a wonderful throne of sparkling jewels, sat the lovely Fairy Queen. A carpet of soft, pink-tipped rose petals lay at the queen's feet, while pretty silk cushions worked with fairy gold rested on the arms of the throne. "The walls were hung with the most beautiful woven material Claris had ever seen. She stood spellbound as she looked round the wonderful room. Rows and rows of fairies smiled at her as she was led to the queen.

The queen talked to her for a long time, then took Claris to see the marvels of her fairy palace. The fairies danced and sang, ana Claris thought she had never heard such soft, sweet music. Then supper was served in the beautiful supper room. Delicious cakes were handed- round on flower petal plates and dew drank out of snowdrop cups. It was then time for, Claris to return home after a promise to come again. She declared she had never enjoyed herself so much before. The fairy again told her to close her eyes, and when she opened them she found herself in bed in her own little room.
