CRICKET.
SUBURBAN SENIOR GRADE. INTERESTING, STAGE REACHED. An interesting position has been reached in the senior A grade competition controlled by the Auckland Suburban Cricket Association, and four of the six teams have a chance of capturing the championship. A new series of matches was commenced last Saturday, and will be concluded to-day. The final series of matches ■will be played on Good Friday. The present position is that United Suburbs and Harbour Board are in the lead with an equal number of points, with Ellerslie one point behind. Ponsonby has also a winning chance if it can obtain a three-point win over Ellerslie in to-day's match. PARNELL TOURING TEAM. The following will represent the Parneil club's touring team to Rotorua at Easter: —S. C. Hay, L. S. Righton, R. Stewart, G. F. Murray, E. C. Gee, C. G. Broberg, J. M. Brown, C. K. Sharp, N. Von Rotter, R. R. Kissling. Mr. W. H. Johnston has been appointed manager. The team will leave Auckland by the special excursion train next Thursday night, and matches will be played with the Rotorua representatives on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. REPRESENTATION QUESTION. [by telegraph.—press association.] CHRISTCHUKCH, Friday. At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-night it was resolved: —-"That the chairman be requested tp submit to the management committee a scheme embodying the principle -of having direct representation of each association at the annual meeting of the council.'*' The scheme will then be submitted to the association, and if adopted by them, steps will be taken to amend the constitution of the council.
