ACTIVITIES AT RAETIHI.

At the sixth annual meeting of the Raetihi branch of the Plunket Society the president, Mrs. Sigley, announced that the society had had a very successful year and that there was a credit balance of £6B 18s 6d. The expenses of the society had increased during the past financial year and the number of cases that came under the notice of the Plun ket nurse in the district totalled 393 Special efforts made by the society to raise funds were the Bulb Show, which showed a profit of £65. a doll's pram competition, and gift afternoons. The Dramatic Society handed to the society the sum of £2B 5s 4d, proceeds from a play staged on its behalf- The Druids' Lodge also contributed to the funds, and financial help was giveu by the business peoplo and tho'general public. The following officers were elected President, Mrs. Ssgloy; vice-presidents Mesdames P. G. Smith, Boyd, Feltharo and Sandford; secretary and treasurer Mrs. N. Lynch; committee, Mesdames Ashwell, Bell, Gundy, Proude, Cummins. McDonald, Anderson and Miss Harris; Advisory Board, Drs. Feltham and Boyd and Messrs. Ritchie, Sandford, W. Thomson, Drury and Ashwell; , auditor. Mr. Rieper. The secretary, Mrs. Lynch, received a gift from the members of the society in appreciation of her work during the past six years.
