"MADE IN NEW ZEALAND."
THE PREFERENCE LEAGUE. SUCCESS OF EXHIBITION. The Board of Directors of the New Zealand Made Preference League met yesterday, Mr. T. H. Macky presiding. Reporting on the recent industrial exhibition on the civic square, the organising secretary, Mr. W. H. Honey, said it was most successful and it was estimated that 15,000 people passed through the gates, and everyone evinced an interest in the display. "There is no doubt that this first attempt of the league has sown excellent seed, so much so that exhibitors are already clamouring for another exhibition at an early date," Mr. Honey said. "This will be supplied in the shape of the Winter Exhibition and will be followed two or three months later, 1 hope, by the Great White Train." The'exhibition was a success financially, especially in view of the fapt that admission was free. In many cases manufacturers reported the receipt of large business, due to the exhibition. Women were also going into shops, asking for New Zealand-made goods.
The league decided to have badges made to be worn by league members. It was decided to hold a luncheon once a month, the first to take place on April 21. The proposal is that these luncheons should take place at various factories in the city.
