Thwaites was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court yesterday by Mr. Justice Stringer, on the motion of Mr. A. Burn. Mr. -A. Sando, and Mr. W. Johnson, of Wellington, Air. J. B. McLeod, of Te Kuiti, and Mr. W. H. Dann, of Thames, are at the Royal Hotel. Mr. C. 'W. Jones, general manager in New Zealand for the Hud dart-Parker Shipping Company, is visiting Auckland. He is at the Grand Hotel, Sir Edwin Mitchelson celebrated his 81st birthday yesterday. He was the recipient of congratulations from all sections of the community, including a telegram forwarded by the Mayor, Mr. George Baildon, on behalf of the City Council and the citizens of Auckland
