ORDEAL IN MOUNTAINS.
MUSTERER FALLS 60 FEET, COMRADES' STRENUOUS TASK. *' & 1 - [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ASHBURTON, Thursday. After slipping on the snow and falling for 60ft., a sheep musterer, Leslie Tinipson, aged 32, fractured his leg and lay for 16 hours in the. back country of the Mount Potts Estate, in mid-Canterbury, before being discovered by comrades. Owing to the rough nature of the country the rescue party who found the sufferer, aitei midnight, had a difficult task in bringing him many miles to t*e station near the head of the Rangitata River. It was 21 hours before thf.y were clear of the mountains and the members of the party were exhausted on reaching the station. The injured man did not reach the Ashburton Hospital until nearly 40 hours after the accident, lie is now progressing favourably.
