MORRINSVILLE FARMERS.
AMALGAMATION DES2RED. ONE BRANCH OF UNION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.! , MOBRXNSVILLE. Thursday. At a recent meeting of the Morrinsville branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, it was suggested that meetings be held in an endeavour to get farmers in the smaller centres round Morrinsville to join with the Morrinsville branch and so make one large body. The first of these meetings was held at Motumaoho. Mr. S. A. Ferguson presiding. Mr. F. Colbeck, of the Auckland executive, said the only objection to large branches was that each branch was entitled to a representative of one for every 100 members or part thereof at the annual Dominion conference, and if, as was suggested, the smaller branches of Tatuanui, Motumaoho, and Kiwitahi linked up with Morrinsville, the district would lose representation at the conference. Mr. Allen said it would be better to have one strong branch in Morrinsville, and hold meetings when desired at the smaller places which were represented on the Morrinsville branch. A motion was carried that a branch of the union be not formed in Motumaoho, but that members of the union there link up with Morrinsville.
