PEACE IN IRELAND.
WAR COSTS £30,000,000. DE VALERA NOW DEFEATED. A, and N.Z. DUBLIN. April 3. The Minister of Finance for the Irish Free State, Mr. E. Blythe, in the course of a speech said the civil war had cost Ireland £30,000,000, but peace was possible only by the defeat of De Valera. This had now been accomplished. Those who said they could make trouble for England without harming Ireland were fools.
