MOTOR-CAR BANDITS.
JEWELLER'S SHOP RAIDED. CHASE IN LONDON. Private motorists, taxi-cabs, police and a van driver took part in a wild chase of a bandit' car in the West End of London recently, after a raid on & jeweller's shop. At 40 miles an hour the bandits sped along, with the shrill sound of police whistles and cries of "Stop thief!" filling the air. Finally, after a narrow shave in a traffic jam, the bandits abandoned their car—with most of the stolen jewellery still in it—took to their heels and got away. The van driver had much to do with the foiling of the raiders. It is i believed that the car used by the bandits—a Buick coupe—was a stolen one. It had falsb number plates. The raid was the second by motor bandits within a few hours, for on the previous day three men in a sports model car ransacked a house in Bexley Heath.
