DOMINION GOLFERS.
TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA. SELECTION ANNOUNCED. DUNCAN AND MACFARLANE. ROSS, HORTON AND QUIN. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 WELLINGTON, Monday. The selection of a team of five golfers, four of whom will represent the Dominion in the New South Wales amateur championships and in the match for the Kirk-Windeyer Cup, was made at a meeting of "the New Zealand Golf Council today. The five chosen will make the trip to Australia and tho team of four will be selected after a week's practice at Sydney immediately prior Sto the first match in which the New Zealanders will take part on June 4. The five selected are:— A. P. S. Duncan, plus 3 (Wellington). E. M. Macfarlane, plus 3 (Christehurch). Dr. K. Ross, plus 3 (Otago). T. H. Horton, plus 2 (Masterton). Leo Qtiin, plus 2 (Eltham). There were 11 nominations all told, the unsuccessful ones being J. L. Black, plus 2 "(Hutt); J. Goss, jun., plus 2 (Wanganui) ; V. Wright, plus 2 (Timaru); N. C. Bell, plus 1 (Hamilton); R. M. George, scr. (Maungakiekie) ; Rana Wagg, scr. (Hutt). The five will sail from Wellington for Sydney on May 27. The chairman of the New Zealand:. Council, Mr. R. C. Kirk, has signified his intention of making the trip. The team selected will compete in the New South Wales championship foursomes on June 4, arid a couple of days later will take part in the match for the Royal Sydney Cup. On June 8 and 9 the match for the Kirk-Windeyer Cup will be held, and on June 11 the qualifying round of the New South Wales amateur championships will be played. Those who qualify will continue to play for thd following week. The several matches will be played on the Royal Sydney Club's links.
