STOCKS AND SHARES.
AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. BUSINESS CONTINUES QUIET. Business continued quiet on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday. In Government securities Soldiers' Inscribed had sale at £lOl. The market closed at £IOO 15s and £lOl 5s for both these aud Soldiers' Bonds. In debentures Auckland Harbours, the 6 pup cents, maturing in 1941, were done at £lO3, equal to the last previous sale. In banks there was no notable movement. Buyers of New South Wales firmed slightly to £49 ss, but sellers were unchanged at £49 12s 6d. In insurance Standards sold at 565, the price in December last being 57s 6d. New Zealands changed hands at 36s Bd, against 36s 6d last week. More ware wanted at the latter price, sellers 375. South British buyers and sellers closed easier at 55s and 55s 6d. In miscellaneous Milne and Choyce debenture stock sold better at 255, a price at which more were available, buyers offering 24s 9cl and later 24a 6d, In mining Lucky Shots were done at 3s and the contributing issue at 2s 6d and 2s 7d. Kawaraus again changed hands at 3s 2d. Waihi buyers were a trifle firmer at 16:s 6d, but sellers held for 17s 6d. The following sales took place: Soldiers' Inscribed Stock, 1933, per cent., £101; Auckland Harbour Board, 1941, 6 per cent., £103; New Zealand Insurance, 36s 9d; Standard Insurance, ; Milne and Choyce debenture stock, 255; Kawarau, 3s 2d; Lucky Shot, 3s, contributing issue 2s 6d, 2s 7d; Nonpareil, 4d.
