ALTERATIONS TO DOCK.

WORK NEARLY COMPLETED. UNLOADING NORTHUMBERLAND. The alterations to the Calliope Dock, to enable it to accommodate the damaged steamer Northumberland, will be completed on Friday, the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. H. R. Mackenzie, said yesterday. It was not; yet known how long it would take to repair the vessel and the terms for the use of the dock and plant would be a : "er for arrangement between the board and the agents, tho New Zealand Shipping Company. Discharge of the Northumberland's cargo is proceeding apace at King's Wharf. All the cargo with the exception of that in No. 2 hold is to be landed and it is anticipated that this work will be completed early next week.
