:X and JO. • r BRISBANE, Feb. 9. • - The Sheffield Shieldmatch between Queensland and Victoria was : continued to-day. Queensland, who had made 399 in their first innings, and had. then disposed of Victoria for 86, continued their second innings and brought',.their total ' to 439 {lt. Oxenham 73, Knowles 144, Mayes 37 not out).' Hendry, took three wickets for 51, Blackie two for 69. Victoria in their second innings had made 120 runs without loss, when stumps •were drawn (Hendry 55 not out, Ponsford 60 not out). - Oxenham continued his innings to-day, but he batted practically with one hand owing tq the injury to his wrist which ..he received ..yesterday. He played soundly, in spite of this handicap. • After Knowles had made a century in - his first Sheffield Shield match he hit out str.ongly and frequently sent the ball > to. the<rails.. Blackie was; unable to .bowl, ©wing to a. strain. _ Victoria needs to make 753 runs to win the match.
TOURING CRICKETERS IN. CEYLON.
