MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Golden Age.—Tho winze on the footwall of ths Golden Age reef has beeu. sunk a further distance of sft. We are taking about lft. of quartz. The reef is heavily mineralised. Luoky Shot.—Since last report, the pipes to carry air for rock drill have been laid into the drive for a distance of 400 ft., and about another 100 ft. will put them right up to the face. One thousand feet of pipes have been laid to bring in fresh water for the compressor and for boring, and another 500 ft. have to be laid to put them right up to the face. We cut a new reef in the crosscut in the footwall of the main reef showing strong dabs of gold. The country has been disturbed by a foul. We are now in to solid country and the reef is a well-defined body of stone, over 12 inches in width, heavily mineralised, and it still continues to show gold when broken down. This ia the onlyface we have been working since the holidays, tho men being engaged in the erection of the machinery. New Waiotahi.—The drive hillward on the course of the Wa.iotahi-Cajnbria reel has been advanced and timbered for a distance of Sft. The country penetrated continues somewhat firmer, but is still break, tarnation. There is every reason to expect that the reef will again be met on the hiliward side of this displacing factor. The footwall leader of the Waiotahi-Cs.rr.bria reef, from which sib. o? picked ston® was obtained, has beers sunk a further sft. About 3ft. of the stripped portion has been taken down to where it junctions with the main reef on the hillward side of the winze. A few pieces showing strong blotches of gold have bean selected from both the leader and the main reef. This wins® will shortly connect with the drive from the bottom of the main winze. We will then find out how this leader was missed in the drive. Moanataiari. —The shaft is down 41ft. The country is a little milder and of a splendid description. The rise on the last crosscut is up 35ft. in good country. We are sjoing up at on angle of 1 ia 5 and setter progress will now be made as we have been delayed with alterations to the compressors. We had to instal a fan at the shaft, as the smpke and fumes would not leave the bottom.
