THAMES DEFEATS WAIHI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Monday. The second representative cricket match of the season was played on Saturday, when Thames, with 172 runs and 83 for three wickets, defeated Waihi, 64 and 75. The principal scorers for Thames were W. Sowerby 61, R. Buchan 30, A. Brokenshire 45, and for Waihi, A. Zevouich. 16. DARGAVILLE CUP MATCH. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DARGAVILLE, Monday. The first match for the Dargaville Cricket Cup was played at on Saturday between teams representing Northern Wairoa' and Mangonui. _ The latter won by 42 runs on the first innings. The visitors made 81 (Dawson 15, Panther not out 13. Penny 13). Roy Switzer took eight wickets for 25 runs. Northern Wairoa made only 39 (Searle 15). White took four wickets for 15 runs. When stumps were drawn Mangonui had scored 223 for eight wickets (Dunn 46, Panther 39. Lambley 36, Wrathall 28, White 22, E. Panther 23. Dawson not out 12). Switzer received a severe knock on the head while batting, and was rendered unconscious.
