A di&play of the Aurora Australia lit up the south-western sky early yesterday morning and lasted for several hours, with a brilliant white light like that of a distant flickering searchlight display The light was vi<:bl« last flight hat wait much fe«* brilliant and !♦?$«• On Thursday evening the Chruteburdi magnetic observatory recorded s permanent anrora which was Dot visible to the caked ey.\ It was one of the strongest e'er recorded at the observatory.
