THE PLUNKET SHIELD..

AUCKLAND V. WELLINGTON. FINAL MATCH FOR TROPHY. PLAY TO COMMENCE TO-MORROW The Wellington cricket team which will play Auckland in the final .match for the Plunket Shield this season will arrive from Wellington this morning and will stay at the Star Hotel. The game with Auckland will commence at. 11 o'clock tomorrow morning at Eden Park, The team selected to defend the shield for Wellington is: —W. S. Brice (captain), J. S. Hiddleston, R. V. De R. Worker, B. J. Kortlang, C. S. Dempster, T. C. Lowry, H. M. Lambert, H. M. McGirr, A. M. Hollings, K. C. James, F. T. Badcock, M. Henderson. The visitors will probably indulge in practice at Eden Park this afternoon. Itis understood that a considerable number of Wellington supporters will visit Auckland for the week-end to see as much as possible of the match. The game promises to be an exceptionally interesting one. The Wellington side, one of the strongest batting combinations that has ever represented a New Zealand province, is at full 'strength. Although the selection of one or two players in the Auckland team has met with some criticism Auckland is fully capable of extending its old rival. The game will be continued on Saturday and Monday and daily until it is concluded.
