The New Zealand League footballers vere to-day defeated by Hull Kingston by SO points to 15. There were 8000 spectator. 1 ;,. . .
The Naw Zealand team comprised Dufty, Brown, Kirwan, Davidson, Gardiner, Brisbane, Hall, . Menzies, I'arkes, Herring, Mason, Thomas and kvery.
The opportunism of the visitors gave lliem a comfortable half-time lead. Bielby opened the scoring for the home side, and Dsborne converted. Davidson scored a magnificent try, which Dufty converted. Osborne kicked a goal from a penalty. Thomas and Brown played resourcefully iml scored tries. Dufiy converted both.
In iho second half the New Zealanders' ittaek faded away. They were only Biangerous once, and then they were lulled Dp for offside play.
The home side made a remarkable refcovery. Brigham and Austin scored tries, one of which Osborne converted. This equalised the scores. A desperate struggle ensued, the homo tide attacking very vigorously. The visitors defended magnificently, but Cook made a- terrific effort and broke through in the last minute. Osborne converted the try. MAOKIS IN WALES. BEATEN BY PONTYPOOL.

The Maori Rugby footballers w;re today defeated by Pontypool by 6 points to b There were 7000 spectators. The Maori team comprised Potaka, Falwasse.r, Pelbani, Grace, Mete, Winiera, "Kingi, Bell, Olsen, Dennis, Manihera, Rika,- Robinson, S. Gemmel and Matene. Pontypool attacked from the. kick-off and forced Potaka to touch down. Play ■was . rarely outside the Maoris' half before the interval.
After 35 minutes' play .Cullis "sold a dummy'' and passed several of his opponents. Ho.passed to Eichards, who scored at the corner.
Pontypool continued their pressure in, ■the second half, almost monopolising the game for 20 minutes. Then James intercepted a pass, tricked Potaka, and passed to Thomas, who scored without opposition. The Maoris now played with greater Initiative and vigour. They launched ■repeated attacks, but met with very stubborn defence.
Falwasser was most brilliant. He often tseemed certain to score, but was continutally tackled by Ford, the diminutive fulltack, who played .a magnificent game. Falwnsscr. eventually made an irresistible run, eluded Ford and scored between the posts.
Potaka's .first kick was charged down, !but his second succeeded. Fahvasser had tad luck in not scoring again,
