BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS. An important addition to the business portion of Northcoto in to bo made by the erection in consrete, at the corner of Queen and Clarence Streets, of a block comprising four shops, a commodious hail for public entertainments, and a garage and service station. Tho block will have a frontage of 90 feet to Queen- Street, with an average depth of 130 feet, and the shops wiLl occupy the street frontage. The gftrage is to be 100 feet by 40 feet. The dimensions of the hall will be 77 feet by AO feet, and of the supper room 40 feet by 22 feet, with stage and storage basement of the same size. A contract ha 3 been let, and the building, costing approximately £7OOO, is to be completed in four to five months. Another substantial improvement has been the erection of a two-storeyed building in brick, comprising two combined shops and dwellings in Queen Street on the site adjoining the Northeote Hotel. These premises, which are almost completed, nave been erected for Mr. M. H. Valsh.
