OFFICERS OF ASSOCIATION. QUANTITY SURVEY SYSTEM. The annual meeting of the Auckland Master Builders' Association yeas held on Tuesday evening. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. V. A. Coyle; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. ,'N. Cole and ,p. W. Raveiihail; treasurer, Mr, C. A- Lee; auditor, Mr. C. H. Bishop; committee, Messrs. F. J. Fawceti*, G. G, Pollard, Q|. E. Baitleet, ,R;. J. The association was still proving its value in many ways and had been the means of removing various difficulties between builders and architects, impostors unci others. As the result of 'sittings of a committee representative of jfccal builders and architects the final stage had been reached for the adoption of what. was known as the Scottish mod© of measurement. By tlie introduction of this uniform system of compilation of quantities, adapted to New Zealand conditions, it was expected the process of estimating and tendering, j particularly in connection wjth larger ! works, would be greatly simplified,' to the advantage of architects, builders and Sfowners.
