ASLEEP ON SANDHILLS.
TWO GIRLS IN COURT. IDLE AND DISORDERLY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. Two girls, aged 18 years and 20 years respectively, came before Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court this morning on charges of being idle and disorderly in that they had no lawful visible means of support. Their names were suppressed. One was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on in 12 months, and the other was remanded for a week to ascertain if accommodation can bo found for her in the Salvation Army home at Dunedin. The father of this one admitted that he could not properly control her. The police evidence showed that the Eirls had been found asleep in the sandills 'at New Brighton. They admitted that they had been sleeping out for some days and had not had any food since Saturday.
