Lavns left for Wellington by train last evening. Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Saunders, of New Plymouth, are at the Central Hotel The Hon. W. H. Triggs, M.L.C., left for the South by train last evening. Mr. D. M. Munn, of New York, and Mr. H. Rogers, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. W. Westwater, of Hamilton, and Mr. W. G. Havward, of Ngatea, are at the Star Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. A. Aubrey, of Melbourne, and Mr, and Mrs. B. Smith, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. G. C. Creagh was yesterday elected chairman of the Auckland Stock Exchange for the eighth consecutive year. Mr. P. Beaucliamp and Mr. E. L. Brodie, of Wellington, Mr. R. Brewis, of Hamilton, and Mr. P. Andrews and Mr. A. Andrews, of Opononi,, arc at the Central Hotel, Mr. A. M. Gibson, of Wellington, Mr. J. E. Johnston and Mr. A. «T. Headlev, of Christ-church, Mr. F. M. Bobb, of Dunedin, and Mr. E. J. Fitzgerald, of Matamata, are at the Royal Hotel. The Rev. N. Op. White, of Heleusville, has resigned his charge in order to take up an appointment at Dargaville under the Presbyterian Home Missions Committee. At tha request of the Helens'; ilie congregation Mr. White will not tako up his new duties until the end of February. Admiral Fergusson, brother of the Governor-General, is visiting Ongavue for the trout-fishing. He has pitched a camp on the banks of the Mangakahu Stream, where he will be joined to-mor-row by his wife and two daughters. On December 22 the party will return to Auckland to spend Christmas with Sir Charles Fergusson. Early in January Admiral Forgusson will go North for the big game fishing.
