A PROFESSIONAL PROWLER.
Described by the chief-detective as a professional prowler, Walter H'aeata, aged 35, pleaded guilty in the Police Court on Saturday to being idle and disorderly. Questioned as to his means, accused admitted that he had not worked for some time. : Chief-Detective Cummings said that accused had been prowling in tho Domain and on the top of Mount Eden. He had been a.source of annoyance to women and children. As a result of complaints, two detectives visited the top of Mount Eden and arrested accused. Ho had 4d in his possession. Mr. E. K-. Hunt, S.M.: The Salvation Army might find work for him. If not, I am thinking of three months in gaol. He had better get to work. ISring him back here if you catch him prowling. , A charge of stealing five heifSfs at Albany was preferred against a Serbian, Antoni Sorich, aged 29 (Mr. Dickson). Accused was remanded until nest Thursday on £IOO bail.
With a long list of convictions to her discredit, Ettie O'Toole, aged Si, pleaded guilty to charges of drunkenness and indecent language. A fine of £l, in default three days' imprisonment, was imposed.
