FATAL WOUND IN THROAT.
SAD CHRISTCHURGH CASE. [BY telegraph,—own correspondent.] CHBISTGHTJECH, Friday. "His position was hopeless owing to the condition of his health," said Di\ J. P. Whetter this morning in giving evidence at the inquest before Mr. H. P. Lawry, 8.M., coroner, concerning the death of John Churchill Day, who died on Tuesday as the result of injuries to his throat.
Dr. Whetter said that Day was suffering from an incurable complaint and he' could swallow only with difficulty. He ran a risk daily of choking or getting septic pneumonia, from which be would have died- The patient was getting progressively worse. He had told witness that he had lived too long. A verdict was returned .thai Day died from shock caused by a wound in the thx-oat, which had been self-inflicted while of unsound mind.
