MAORIS GO TO COURT.
[BY TELEGRAPH.-—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] 6POTIKI, Friday. A dispute between two Maori farmers was concluded in the Magistrate's Court to-day before Mr, W. G. Kenrick, S.M. Pi Tairtia sued Mate Mihaere for £lB 18s, being the value of 54 bags of chaff. Plaintiff alleged that ho and defendant were in partnership in two cat crops and that defendant got ,54 more bags than he was entitled to, defendant denied this and said ho had done more work than plaintiff and the whole matter had been settled between the parties at the time the chaff was cuit.
The magistrate gave judgment for plaintiff for £l4 14s, With costs £9 lis. Mr. N. V. Hodgson appeared for plaintiff and Mr. G. B. Murray for defendant.
