DISTINGUISHED BOTANIST.
STUDY IN DOMINION. [by telegraph.-—press association.] FEILDING,, Friday. A distinguished Swedish botanist, Mr G. Einar da Rietz, of the Upsala Uni versity, is visiting Feilding for the weekend. In company with Dr. H. H. Allan, of the Feilding Agricultural High School, he proposes to examine Kitchener Park, which has a special interest to him as a lichonologist, as it contains specimens of lichens growing on the leaves oj' forest trees, a phenomenon rarely seen outside the tropics. He also hopes to make an excursion to the Ruahiine mountains to study the . vegetation there,, especially the rock lichens of the subalpine belt.
