HEALTH IN NOVEMBER.

AN ALL-ROUND SIMPROVEMENT DECREASE IN DIPHTHERIA. The returns of infectious diseases for November show an all-round improvement compared with the figures for October. There wero indications of an epidemic of diphtheria in October, but there were fewer cases last month. There wero 32 notifications, compared with 36 in October, and 22 in September. There was also a decrease in the jtoit 1 fications of scarlet fever, the total being 14, compared 'with 23 in Otober. An appreciable decrease is shown in the number of cases of pneumonic influenza. There were only three last month, compares with four in October, 16 in September and 112 in August: There were 26 cases of pneumonia last month, as against 33 /in October. Enteric iiever shows a slight increase, the number of cases being 16, compared with 10 in October. Other notifications "with the figures for the preceding month in parentheses, included :—Tuberculosis, 42 (29); erysipelas,' 3 (11).
