PROPERTY SALES.
LARGE AREA AT PANMURE. TWO SECTIONS IN 1 PARNELL. There was a fairly large attendance of buyers at Mr. C. F. Bennett's rooms yesterday afternocyn when 130 acres of volcanic land, less a small area required by the Railway Department, on the Mount Wellington highway, between Panmure and Otahuhu, was sold at auction for £169 an acre. The area is a little over 128 acres, and the total sum paid was about £21,600. The land is opposite the site of the new Sylvia Park railway station. Bidding was keen for two freehold sections on Parnell Road, next to St. Mary's Cathedral. Each section, which has a frontage of 66ft., realised £1320, or approximately £2O a foot. The property was the site of the old vicarage for many years. A number of sections in the Mangere Seaside Estate were offered at auction by J. R. Robertson, Ltd., last evening. Bidding under a system of buyers nominating their own 'deposits was fairly brisk and 12 sections were sold at prices ranging from £135 to £250.
