BOWLING.
PAPATOETOE TOURNAMENT. A full-rink tournament was held at the Papatoetoe bowling green on Thursday. Although rain interfered somewhat with the play in the morning fine weather from noon onward enabled the programme to be carried out. The green was in splendid condition and some good games resulted. A rink comprising G. Hardley, Qualthrough, C. Hardley and W. Bremner won the trophies. A summary of the results is as follows: W. Bremner, 5 wins; R. P. Hill, 4 wins, 1 loss; W. Denison, 4 wins, 1 loss; A. Robertson, 3 wins, 2 losses; J. Mclvor, 3 wins, 2 losses; De Launay, 3 wins, 2 losses; Sykes, 2| wins.222' 2 losses; Rawnslov, 2!) wins, 2), losses; Smytheman, 2 wins,_ 3 losses; Nesbitt, 2 wins, 3 losses; Morrison, J. Franklin, A. Parsons and Donnell, 1 win and 4 losses each. SEASON AT TACRANGA. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA, Friday. The. Tauranga bowling season is now fully under way. Entries for the various competitions on the Tauranga Club's green have closed, and the match committee has made the draws. The singles and pairs competitions will be commenced immediately, the games being played by mutual arrangement, but in the two-rink'competi-tion the dates and the teams to play have been fixed.
The grimes in the Smith Shield competition will commence on December 1, arid end on .April 9. Other competitions are President's bracelet, singles championship and handicap singles. The Tauranga Club has issued invitations in connection with its annual tournament, which commences on February 15. The" Tauranga South Bowling Club is arranging its competitions and a successful season is expected. The tournament in connection with the Francis Cup is to be held at Te Puke on January 1 and 3. The Tauranga and Te Puke Clubs played for the Butcher Cup yesterday at Tnin-.nrra. Tauranga won by 83 points to 43. •
