NEGOTIATIONS IN PROGRESS. PROPOSALS BY AUTHORITIES. [BY TELEGTUFH. —OWN- CORRESPONDENT. ] WELLINGTON. Wednesday. Negotiations were again in progress today in connection with the claims of the New Zealand Enginedrivers, Firemen and Cleaners' Association. A conference was held this morning between the general rt-funcil of the association and the Actingluiaister of Railways and the Railway Board, and it is understood that an offer made by the board was declined by the men's representatives. A second conference was held to-night, the result being an adjournment until Saturday to enable the council to consider further proposals.
