WIRELESS OF THE MIND.

Every other day some fresh discovery or experiment is made in a realm that has only recently been much explored the realm of the subconscious mind. Telepathy, or the wireless of the mind, is being studied carefully and the power of thought is just beginning to be understood.

Rocently someone made an interesting experiment in this direction with a dog. The animal was quietly dozing by the fire: the experimenter concentrated on the idea that outside the door some danger lurked. In three minutes the dog pricked up his ears, sniffed, walked to the door and refused to settle down until it had been opened and he had inspected the hall. The experiment was repeated several times in different ways and ewry time the dog's mind reacted in tha stuuc

way. , If dogs can be unacted by thought, how much probable is it that children tie, and aro, influenced by the riisjs thing! Most children nowadays suffer from too much care and too much thought. Their every action is watched, their play :s directed, their brains are unduly stimulated. They are never allowed to run wild, to meet emergencies or aope with difficulties unaided. When they do get the chance to have a little freedom they are so inspirited and excited that they frequently get into trouble.

The only child is more particularly to ' be pitied since the parents concontrato on their ewo lamb and, in their anxiety to give him or hoi 1 ;,:: every chance, often get infected with ail kinds of health and educational fads.

Added to all this is the constant action of the parent's thought. Not long ago a mother, talking to her grown-up son, confessed that although she had always agreed with the boy's father on the surface, underneath she had often thought her huslmnd wrong in his system. "Do you think I didn't know it?" said the son, "I sensed it every time and resented your weakness." • Think rightly—and don't think too much—about yonr children, Try to avoid worrying abont them in their presence, and give them as much freedom in their nursery days as is possible in our state of civilisation. Cultivate in your own self a serene faith. Atmosphere, especially the home atmosphere, and ways of thought are so powerful in child-rearing.
