COUNCIL BUS SERVICES.
Sir,—l quite agree with all that has been said regarding the inadequate services of the City Council buses to and from the bottom of the Remuera hills. A private bus ran up ahd down Orakei Road as far as Manawa Road on Sundays, as well as week-days, before the council took over the business, and it was a great boon to residents. There ate no buses on Sundays now, and on other days thev onlv go as far as Benson Koad. Elderly people and those who are not strong are barred from attending chufeh unless they have their own cars. I hero would be no vacant sections for long on those lulls if there were better communication, but people will not bnild there until there is some means of travelling l'egularly up and down the long hill. It is those" at the bottom who most need a j :iUS _ Ratepayer.
