SHANGHAI OUTRAGES.
SPIES CAUGHT WITH BOMBS. GUERILLA WARFARE IN PROGRESS A. and N.Z. PEKING, Oct. 27. Considerable apprehension exists at Shanghai because of the present guorilla warfare between Canton troops and Chinese soldiers. In addition to the institution of martial law in the territory outside the foreign settlements, a 7 o'clock curfew has been ordered. All persons who are abroad after that hour will be arrested Passwords have to be employed at the boundaries of the settlements, without a knowledge of which no one is permitted to cross them.
Patrol waggons, mounted with machineguns and filled with armed police supplement squads of infantry. Nevertheless the revolutionaries continue txieir efforts to carry out acts of sabotage on the railways and public services.
Two spies, who had disguised themselves as mechanics, were caught entering tho arsenal at Shanghai with the workers. When they were discovered shots were exchanged.
The guards overpowered the spies. A bomb was found in tho pocket of each man. Many spies have already been executed.
