OBITUARY
DR. GEORGE E. ROWE. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) BRISBANE. Oct. 28. The death has occurred of Dr. G. E. Howe, a prominent Methodist minister. The Rev. Georgo E. Rowe, D.D., was born in Cornwall, England, in 1858. He went to Australia in 1881 and spent several years in the leading circuits in South Australia. He was then transferred to Western Australia, where he was the first president of the Methodist Conference in 1900. In 1910 he was appointed first president of fhe Queensland Methodist Conference. It. Rowe had been superintendent of the Central Methodist Mission, Albert Street Church, Brisbane, since 1906 nnd was a chaplain to the Australian Military Forces for 25 years. He saw active service in the Great War. Since 1916 he had been a senator of the University cf Queensland.
