FATAL FALL FROM TRAM.
SUM OF £35 FOR WIDOW.
The City Council last evening decided to m.-tke a compassionate allowance of £35 to Mrs. H. N. Kennedy, in respect of the death of her husband, who received injuries through falling from a tramcar in Wellesley Street West on May 29 last. It was stated that the council's servants had been completely exonerated from blame, but in view of Mrs. Kennedy not having been in New Zealand long enough to secure a widow's pension, the Tramways Committee recommended that she be granted a compassionate allowance of £35. The recommendation was adopted.
