BRIDGE OVER WAIRAU.

ACCEPTANCE OF TENDER. For the. erection of the bridge across the Wairau Estuary at Inga Road, the tender of Mr. A. G. Fraser. at .£2269, was accepted by the Takapuna Borough Council last evening. The estimate of the borough engineer, Mr. A. Slinger, was £2130. The plans provide for a bridge of two 25ffc. spans, to be constructed in concrete and ironwork. The approach from the. Takapuna end has already been formed by the borough in accordance with the arrangement made in conformity with the report of last year's Royal Commission, and the Waitemata County Council is at present engaged in laying down the approach from Howden's Point, at the porthern side of the estuary.
