JUSTICES OF THE PEACE.
ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual meeting of the Auckland Justices of the Peace Association was held on Wednesday, the president, Mr. A. J'. Stratford, presiding. The annual report stated that the membership had increased from 525 to 586. Branches were established during the year at Matamata and Morrinsville. During the year, receipts had totalled £316 and expenditure £290, leaving a credit balance of £26. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. A. J. Stratford; vicepresidents, Messrs. A. Rosser, R. T. Michaels and D. Donaldson ; registrar and treasurer, Mr. C. Wheeler; council, Messrs. F. J. H. Ellisdon, A. Oldham, R. Marsack and G. W. Sanders. A resolution was passed expressing appreciation of the public services of the late Sir Arthur Myers, and tendering to his- faintly-and relatives.
