PENALTIES FOR BREACHES. SEVERAL MOTORISTS FINED. A number of motorists and others were prosecuted in the Police Court yesterday for breaches of the traffic by-laws. A fine of £3 was imposed on Harold Byers for dangerous driving. For similar offences Arthur James Good, Edward H. Day, John Haynes, Gordon Ewen McColl, and Alfred E. Tate wero each fined £2, with costs. Malcolm R. Kells and Horace Edward Watson wero fined £1 each. Endorsement of the licence was ordered in the case of Alfred Boy Ellis for negligent driving, and he was also convicted and ordered to pay costs. For failing to produce a licence he was convicted and ordered to pay costs. The following were each fined 10s for leaving their cars unattended: A. Wilson, J. Avenell, William E. Hughes, Thomas W. Arthur, George M. Johnston and Gavin Wallace. For cutting corners, Arthur E. Emirali, Harold Mann, William Towers, Stanley Kelly and George Skinner wero each fined 10s with costs. Herbert li. B:asely, Archie E. McMahon. George Dunn and James Chalmers were each fined 10s for having insufficient lights on their vehicles. For riding a bicycle on a footpath, Raymond W. Edgar was fined 10s with costs. A fine of 10s with costs was imposed on Naram Ramgee for allowing his horse and cart tc remain stationary on Grafton Bridge. Gordon Conway was convicted and ordered to pay costs for passing a stationary tramcar. For facing his vehiclo in the wrong direction, Henry Ford was fined £1 with costs, while he was convicted for causing undue obstruction. James O'Kane was fined 10s for pillion riding. Fines of £2 were imposed on J. Gardner, S. P. Bobinson, D. Shannon and K. Thompson for speeding. P. Russell, P. Havern and A. W. Parker were each fined £1 for similar offences. For parking his car without lights, H. Coates was fined 10s.
