MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Alburnia.—The level going hillward on the footwall portion of tlio Orlando reof has been advanced Gft. The ore body in tho face averages 3ft. The reef is encased ! in a splendid class of country rock. A further distance of 3ft. has been advanced in the rise. At the starting point the reef was 18in. wide; it is now showing a. width of 3ft. A band of heavily mineralised ore on tho footwall portion some fiin, in width shows colours and dabs of gold in the ore broken, but not what could be classed as picked stone. The winze has been sunk a further 2ft., making a total depth to date of 10ft. Most of the 201b. of picked stone reported this week was obtained from the last 2ft. sunk. Tho best gold was taken out in the last of the reef broken. The reef at the bottom of the winze is 2ft. wide. New Waiotahi.—The drive hillward on the Waiotahi-Cambria reef has been advanced 7ft. for the week, making the total distance from the cr.osscut, 233 ft, Two sets of timbers have also been placed in position. No quartz has been taken down during the week. The country encasing the reef continues to carry flinty seams and favourable indications. The drive from the bottom of the winze on the footwall of the WaiotahiCambria reef has been advanced seaward a further Cft. Kuranui.—The drive east on lloss reef from lower level crosscut has been extended 17ft., aged 6in. wide, but is still very mixed with mullock. The country rock is still very firm. There are mineral veins lm. wide crossing the face every few feet. For the last few feet of driving a fair amount of water is coming out of the country rock, which looks as if tho cross leader is not far away. Maoriland Consolidated.—As expected the break in No. 4 level has been picked up, and a fairly good stretch of level is being met. Tho level was advanced 229 ft. during tho week, making a total distance to date of 935 ft from the entrance. We passed the North Pass at a distance of 791 ft. from the entrance. It is in sound order at the level and a good current of air is .going through. A few feet ahead of the present fa<:e another break occurs which will cause a little delay. Lucky Shot.—The following telegram was received yesterday from tho mine manager: "Wo have intersected a cross reef. It is a fine body of stone, heavily mineralised with silica, antimony and sulphide."
