SPRING MEETING WEIGHTS. The following weights have been declared by Mr. F. J: McManemin for events to be run on tho opening day of the Auckland Racing Club's Spring Meeting:— GORDON HANDICAP.

NOTES FROM ELLERSLIE. YESTERDAY MORNING'S WORK. BY ARCHER. Weather and track conditions were excellent for training operations at Ellershe yesterday. All the fast work was done on the No. ) grass and a few smart gallops were recorded. No. 1 GRASS. White Bird and Baby Bun spurted three furlongs in 38s. Star Comet looked to be goinpf slightly bettor than War Officer at the conclusion of six furlongs in lm 18 3-ss. Wonder Star completed a useful task with four furlongs in stss. Chairman went steadily ovt;r six furlongs, running the last five easily in lm 11 3-ss. The Tractor—Temba gelding and Charif.aine were timed to run three furlongs in 395. Right and Left. Aurumavis and Sleepy Sol wero in close order at the conclusion of a round in lm 535. Muscari defeated Boomerday over a round in lm 63 3-6s. Serang and Merry Damon placed six furlongs behind in lm 19 2-ss. Nucleus strode over seven furlongs in lm «7 3-ss. Dana© and Queen Rewa spurted three furlongs along the back in 38s. Best Boy was timed to run five furlongs in lm 9s, doing it easily. Nassock. Town Bank and Master Mind finished as named over four furlongs in 525. Tresham covered a round in 5m 54 3-ss. Marble Mount ran the last six of seven furlongs in lm 20 3-ss. Quondcmg and Corinax galloped six furlongs in lm 19 lr6s. A rchibald and Clams were on terms at the end of six furlongs in lm 17 3-ss. Chamour pleased by running six furlongs nicely in lm 18s. King Emerald went six furlongs at about three-quarter pace. Town Guard Btrodo over a round without being extended at any stage. Royal Form, who went slowly in the early stages, completed a round m 2m 0 2-ss. Rina Mangu strode over four furlongs in 595. Rnhepoto went six furlongs in lm 19 2-ss. Adi Vunivola covered seven furlongs in lm 32 3-ss. Abbey Day easily beat San Quin over four furlongs in 51a. Zane and Auriculns were together at the conclusion of four furlongs in 51 2-ss. Segment and the Kenilworth—Werota filly spurted three furlongs in 38s. Royal March running along a little behind them. Sehorr brushed over four furlongs in 52 3-ss. THE JUMPERS. Karamn (N. Rowe) jumped a eo-iple of hurdles cleanly and then ran seven furlongs on the grass in lm 375. Uraila (C. Regan) led Day Bell (H. Tinker) in a smart gallop over four hurdles, the paco being on all the way. NOTES FROM THE TRACK. Private advice has been received from Sydney that Stormy, who was taken to the other side recently, won a race at Newcastle on Saturday. Information is also lo hand stating that he started favourite. Stormy is a five-year-old bay gelding by Quin Abbey from Gipsy Martian, that is owned by Mr. H. Burch and is trained l>y the Ellerslie trainer, A. Robertson. By winning Stormy maintained the reputation which he gained after two unplaced performances last season. The three-year-old gelding by Romeo from Mendacity that is being trained at Ellerslie by M. Ryan has been named The Crier. H. Dulieu has been engaged to ride King Emerald and Heisler at Thames on Saturday. The apprentice horseman, F. Foster, wns riding in pood form at Cambridge on Monday and niloted three wirier?, his Fvcessfiil mounts being Tinoiti. linokoa and Arch Oral. The Southern sportsmen. Messrs. E._ Riddiford. W. H. Gaisford and D. Riddiford, were vinitors to Cambridge for the Wniknto Hunt Meeting on Monday. Mr. E. Riddiford. was represented bv Hallowmorn and Banjuke, this former being successful in the Hunters' Hurdleu. THAMES JOCKEY CLUB. MEETING AT PARAWAI. The Thames Jockey Club opens its annua' meeting at Paravai next Saturday, and the* gathering will be continued on the succeeding Monday. The prospects of a complete success resulting are to be viewed as excellent, and given fine weather on both days, record gatherings at Parawai may be expected, for the popularity of the Thames meeting is well established.
