An inquest was held to-day into the death of Ngan Lie, a Chinese gardener, aged 56 years, of Otaki, who was admitted to the Wellington Hospital suffering from a fractured skull and shook, and who died without recovering consciousness. Evidence was given that the deceased was struck by a goods train in a tunnel rear Faekakariki on Friday when walking on the lino in tho early morning. The coroner said deceased was an old man and evidently not well acquainted with the different trains and their running.
