TUITION IN CRICKET.

NEW COACH FOR AUCKLAND. HELPING PROMISING YOUTHS. An indication of the system of coaching to be followed by the Auckland Cricket Association's recently-engaged player-coach, E H. Bowley, of Sussex, was givon by Mr. Carlton Hay at last ovening's meeting of the Management Committee of the association. Bowley is expected to arrive at Wellington on Saturday, and the Wellington Cricket Association has acceded to the request of the Auckland Association to welcome him there on its behalf. The primary schools were willing to fall in with the association's proposed time-table, Mr. Hay said, by granting boys leave to attend coaching at hours convenient to the association. It was proposed that the coach should attend at, say, Eden Park, the Domain, Victoria Park and North Shore on definite mornirvgs. it was desirable that at least one boy from each school should attend to be coached, although the number from one school would probbaly not exceed two except where exceptional promising talent was offering. The position as affecting the secondary schools had not been finalised. For the coaching of ofher players Bowley would probably attend at the same grounds on certain afternoons. The clubs would in the first instance nominate players, including promising juniors, for coaching. Messrs. Beale, Nalder and Sncdden were deputed to arrange for the provision of suitable practice wickets for tho purpose of coaching.
