NEW PROBATION HOME.
BUILDING AT MOUNT ALBERT. TO-DAY'S OPENING CEREMONY. The new probation home at Vincent Road, Mount Albert, will be opened at three o'clock this afternoon by the Hon. R. A. Wright, Minister of Education. The home was erected by Mr. A. J. Jenkin, contractor, of Mount Albert, at a cost of £6OOO, in accordance with plans prepared by the Public Works Department. It provides accommodation in cubicles for 28 boys and is equipped with all the latest appliances. Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., the magistrate in charge of the Children's Court, will preside at the opening ceremony, and in addition to the Minister, Mr. H. G. R. Mason, M.P., the Hon. Geo. Fowlds and Messrs. C. J. Tunks and W. J. Holdsworth will speak. Afternoon tea will be provided, and after the ceremony the building will be open to the public.
