EGG-LAYING CONTEST.

THE AUCKLAND COMPETITION THE TWENTY-SIXTH WEEK. TEAMS AND INDIVIDUAL BIRDS. The results for the 26th week of the Auckland Poultry-keepers' Association's egg-laying contest are of particular interest, owing to the close contest in the fowl section. A. Wood's No, 2 team of Chinese Laagshans. by laying the possible 21 eggs, assumes the lead in the heavy breeds, with 432. A. Stewart's No. 1 team of Black Orpingtons is second with 427, while A. Taylor's White Leghorns stand third with 426. In the duck section a great struggle is taking piaco. Both R. J. Roberts' No. 2 team and A. Wood's No. 1 White Indian Runners tie for first position with 494. Mrs. Dimant's Khaki Campbells are only 30 eggs below and T. Dowthwaite's Fawn and White Indian Runners are 22 below the Khakis.
