SIR ALAN COBHAM.
"NO ATLANTIC DASH." NOTORIETY NOT DESIRED. LONDON, Oct, 6. Lady Tlobham denies that Sir Alan Cobham will make a trans-Atlantic flight, Sho says that ho has not thought of such an undertaking. "Sir Alan Cobham is not the type >o seek notoriety by a spectacular transAtlantic dash," says the Star. "His whole endeavour has been to lift flying out of tho 'stunt' atmosphere, and to demonstrate its safety as a means of transport.'' Regretting that Sir Alan Cobham's first mechanic, Sergeant Elliott, who was killed by an Arab, was not honoured, the writer says that although Elliott did not live to seo the completion of tho great adventuro he did much to make its triumphant completion possible. "It is surely an oversight," says the paper, "that ho has not received official recognition."
